COMMODORE CORBISHLEY: A director since the early 1980s, Battleship Cove Cove Director John W. Corbishley became involved with Battleship Cove because of his interest in history and his appreciation for the museum and its mission.

Owner of Corbishley Insurance, Mr. Corbishley is a graduate of Bryant College with a BS in management and marketing. An avid sailor, Mr. Corbishley is the proud owner of a racing sloop, and on many evenings he can be found rounding the buoys on Narragansett Bay. Mr. Corbishley is also an active member of the New York and Newport Yacht Clubs, serving as past commodore of the latter.

MERCURY ON THE RISE: Cool off while you work on your Sailing Badge at Battleship Cove. The museum offers sailing lessons and Mercury sailboat rentals to qualified youths and adults. Click here to learn more.
